PUBLIC NOTICE

The Plainfield Park District is accepting applications to fill a board vacancy. The term will expire in April 2019. Information packets with instructions to apply will be available for pick up starting Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Recreation/Administration Center, 23729 W. Ottawa Street during regular business hours. Application items must be returned to the Recreation/Administration Center by Noon on Friday, November 3, 2017 in a sealed envelope addressed to Mary Kay Ludemann, President.

Celebrate the season by decorating a tree at Village Green Park. Reserve your tree now! Limited number of trees available. $85 before August 30 | $95 beginning August 31. Trees will be available for decorating November 23 - November 25.

 

 

Parking Lot Closure

Beginning September 18, the north Des Plaines Street Parking Lot will be closed for approximately eight weeks to allow for expansion of the lot. Access to the Plainfield Township Community Center will be maintained through the alley to the south. Public parking is available at the Illinois Street Parking Lot (near the Library) and at Plainfield Central High School in the north parking lot off of James Street.

 

2016-2020 Comprehensive Master Plan

The Comprehensive Master Plan’s primary purpose is to create a vision and strategies over the next five years to guide the continual development of a park and recreation agency
focusing on leisure enrichment opportunities by addressing community needs, interests

Harvest Glen Playground Update

Harvest Glen Playground Construction is expected to
begin August 25.
The new park will be located just east of the existing playground and will feature new play equipment and seating. The existing Basketball court will be resurfaced as part of this project.

 

Village Green Park Replacement Update:

Starting after Labor Day construction on the new playground will begin at Village Green Park.
