Budler Park Ribbon Cutting

Plainfield Park District staff and board members celebrated the re-opening of Budler Park playground in Romeoville this week. The newly revamped playground is located in Romeoville as well as the Plainfield Park District. Plainfield Park District Executive Director Carlo Capalbo said that he was glad that they were able to take part in a collaboration that will benefit both Romeoville and Plainfield Park District residents. Budler Park is located at 1912 Trafalger Dr. in Romeoville.

Giving Gala Check Presentation

Ron and Kathy Kazmar, who co-chaired the 2019 Plainfield Giving Gala fundraiser, recently presented a check for $3,000 to the Plainfield Park District Foundation.

The funding will help provide financial assistance for Park District program fees for families in need said Plainfield park District Foundation president President Javier Juarez who accepted the check along with Park District Director of Administrative Services Wendi Calabrese, and Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tasha Marsaglia.

Streams Dance Studio Reopens

The Streams Recreation Center, 24319 Cedar Creek Lane, reopened this month after its summer-long renovation.

The newly renovated facility will serve as the center for all Plainfield Park District dance programming and now includes 3 dedicated dance studios and an expanded waiting area for parents.

Park District commissioners and staff held a ribbon cutting last week to celebrate the grand re-opening.

“I’m grateful to all of our staff who worked so hard to improve the facility and am pleased we can bring our dance programs together  in one place for our students,” said board president Mimi Poling.
