The Plainfield Park District has unveiled the final plans for playground upgrades at Aspen Meadows and Wexford Parks.
Both projects will go out to bid in August with construction expected to start in the fall.
The new Aspen Meadows playground will feature a school age (ages 5-12) and tot (ages 2-5) play structure with both exceeding Americans with Disabilities (ADA) requirements. In addition, the new playground will have below deck and elevated play features, including climbers, slides and interactive/musical play elements. The school age structure also features a zip Line. There are 2 belt swings, a tot swing, and an ADA swing.
Wexford’s new playground will feature one age 2-12 structure that also exceeds ADA requirements and includes a large triple slide, a double slide, nets and overhead ladders, a bridge, and climbers. There is also a spinner that multiple kids can use cooperatively. There are 2 belt swings, a tot swing, and an ADA swing as well.
