Food Truck Festival & Fireworks 2024
July 3 @ 4:00 pm - 10:30 pm
The Plainfield Park District is partnering with the Village of Plainfield to host Plainfield’s Annual Fireworks Show set to begin at approximately 9:15 p.m., July 3 at Gregory B. Bott Park, 24550 W. Renwick Road in Plainfield.
Additionally, the Second Annual Plainfield Food Truck Festival is running 4 to 9 p.m. in the parking lot of the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center, 24550 W. Renwick Road.
Recommended parking and viewing locations for the fireworks include:
- Plainfield Central High School
- Gregory B. Bott Community Park (viewing map)
- St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Parish Church
The following closures will occur on July 3:
- Renwick Road between River Road and Weathervane Way (local traffic only once the parking lot at Bott Park is filled).
- The baseball fields at Bott Park will close at approximately 10 a.m.
- The playground and bike/walking path at Bott Park will close at 8:30 p.m.
The following restrictions will be in place on July 3:
- Renwick Road between Hometown Drive and Spangler’s Farm Drive
- River Road
No parking on one side of:
- Hometown Drive
- Lewood Drive, between Renwick Road and Easy Street
- Renwick Park Drive, between Renwick Road and Brittany Street
- Easy Street, between River Road and Farmingdale Drive
Traffic Patterns:
A limited amount of accessible parking will be available near the tennis courts at Plainfield Central High School. It is recommended you arrive early if you need to utilize that lot.
There will be an increase in pedestrian traffic in the area. All motorists are advised to use caution on Wednesday evening when driving near and around Plainfield Central High School and Bott Park. Anyone planning to come and enjoy the food truck festival and fireworks show is reminded to expect significant traffic delays at the conclusion of the event.
Please see the above maps for parking locations, viewing locations, restricted access areas, and restricted parking areas. No alcohol is permitted at any of the viewing locations.
Those planning to attend the event and remain until the completion of the fireworks show should review the traffic plan attached to this press release and park in an area that best suits their direction of travel after the fireworks show.
